Movies FAQ

"The Dude abides, man..."

How do I add a movie ticket to StubKeeper?

Look, man, adding a movie to your timeline is pretty simple, you know? It really ties the whole memory thing together. Here's the deal:

Option 1: Snap a Photo

So you've got that ticket stub, right? Maybe it's been living in your wallet since you saw that flick last weekend. Just tap the big "+" button and take a picture of it. The image gets stored forever on this decentralized network thing—IPFS, they call it. Your stub is preserved, man.

Then you just fill in the details: movie name, date, theater, your seat if you remember it. Pretty chill.

Option 2: Dig Through Your Photos

Maybe you already took a picture of the stub. That's cool too, man. Just select it from your photo library and attach it to your memory. Same deal—add the details and you're golden.

Option 3: No Photo? No Problem

And look, maybe you don't have the stub anymore. Life happens. You can just create the memory from scratch—type in the movie, when you saw it, where you were. The memory is what matters, not some piece of paper. The Dude abides either way.

What info should I add?

The basics, man. Nothing too complicated:

  • Movie name – Obviously, dude
  • Date – When you saw it
  • Theater/Venue – Where you were
  • Event type – Pick "Movie" from the list

If you're feeling thorough, you can also add the showtime, your seat, what you paid... whatever helps you remember the experience. But no pressure. This isn't a job application or anything.

What's the deal with these "tags"?

Oh man, this is actually kind of far out. There's two types, see:

Blockchain Tags (The Permanent Ones)

These are like... carved in stone, man. When you first add your movie stub, you can pick up to three of these. They're part of the memory forever. Use 'em for the important stuff—the movie title, the theater, maybe "first date" if that's what the evening was. Once you mint that memory, these tags abide permanently. They're not going anywhere.

The app warns you before you finalize, so you know what you're getting into. Choose wisely, but don't stress too much about it.

Application Tags (The Chill Ones)

These are way more relaxed. Add as many as you want, change 'em whenever, no pressure. Good for stuff like "favorites" or "sci-fi" or "fell asleep halfway through"—you know, the personal organizational stuff. These are just for you, man. Nobody else sees 'em unless you want 'em to.

Can I find other people who saw the same movie?

Yeah, dude! That's the whole "I Was There Too" thing. The app creates this special code based on the theater and the date. So if someone else was at the AMC on October 15th seeing the same showing... you can connect. It's pretty cool for finding your people, you know?

Of course, you control your privacy settings. If you wanna stay anonymous, that's cool. The Dude respects boundaries.

What if I lost my physical ticket stub?

No worries, man. Life happens. You can just do a manual entry and add the movie from memory. It's all about preserving those experiences, not stressing about having the perfect documentation. This isn't 'Nam, there are no rules about needing the original stub.

Is my movie memory really "permanent"?

Yeah, man. That's the whole blockchain thing. Once you mint that memory as an NFT, it's yours forever. Doesn't matter if some app company goes out of business or your phone takes a swim. Your memories are stored on this decentralized network thing. They abide, man. They abide.
